How do you choose a door to match the style of your interior?
Anyone who has ever decorated their interior from the outset will acknowledge that this task requires many difficult decisions. As a permanent and unchanging element of the interior, doors pose a particularly responsible task.
What is worth considering when choosing a door?
Let’s consider our favourite design style: classic, modern, Scandinavian, ethnic or perhaps glamour? Don’t start choosing your doors until you have at least agreed on the interior design of your home or flat – in other words, the style you want to keep it in. After all, the door leaves have to fit in with this vision, especially as, due to their large surface area, they will have a great impact on the overall expression of the home or office space. We will choose different doors for different styles.
For example, the lacquered doors from the Anubis collection will suit classic interiors.
A modern look will be ensured above all by glass sashes associated with modernity – especially sliding and retractable glass sashes, as well as doors from the Baldur collection. They are available as standard with secure, everyday-use-friendly VSG/ESG glazing. For those who are not afraid of bold solutions, also with black glass.
Models from the Sylena series will fit nicely into Scandinavian interiors. Their simple design and elegant ornamentation will go well with simple, minimalist shapes.
The most elegant, matching the glamour style, are the Anubis doors with inspired milling.
Pay attention to details!
Before making the final decision, it is worth looking not only at the whole Erkado sash offer, but also at the proposed accessories in the form of fittings, handles and other accessories. It is the well-chosen details that will help us add style to the entire décor. Let’s match them to the solutions used in our furniture and to the previously chosen interior style! It is equally important to match the doors to the other elements that create the style of the interior, i.e. the colours and materials of the floors, the colours and materials (paint, wallpaper) of the walls, as well as the colour of the window frames and the furniture we want to put inside. This must be taken into account when selecting doors. When matching door leaves to these elements, you can use the method of contrasts or vice versa – trying to harmonise the way the door is finished with the appearance of the window joinery, floor or furniture. Care should be taken to avoid too many colours and patterns – a maximum of two or three different colours should dominate the room.
Universal white
For those who are unsure, we have one last piece of advice: there is a patent that works for most styles – the secret is to keep it as simple as possible, high quality and choose a door in white.
White is suitable for both classic and avant-garde styling and can be easily combined with a variety of wall, floor and furniture colours – white doors, such as the Milda or Sylena models, are an elegant, stylistically secure and timeless solution.
