Everyone who decides on an Erkado door has the possibility of choosing the type of glazing that will be used in the door. The common feature of glass panes used in Erkado doors is that they are safe for the user. Choose between decormat or clear toughened glass and VSG bonded glass in milk or black.
Tempered glass is much more resistant than normal glass to mechanical damage, and if it does break, it breaks into many small pieces with rounded edges. The risk of such glass injuring someone is really negligible. Why does this happen? The secret lies in the production process - toughened glass is created by heating ordinary glass to over 600 degrees C and then rapidly cooling it. This creates compressive stresses that strengthen the sheet. VSG (VerbundSicherheitsGlas) is strictly translated as "laminated safety glass". It is made by permanently bonding two glass sheets together using a special film. Even after a severe impact, VSG glass does not shatter into sharp pieces like traditional glass, but still holds together thanks to the bonding film, eliminating the risk of injury.
GLASS INSTALLATION
Glazing with a groove
Our doors are glazed in a frameless aesthetic groove method using milk glass or optionally clear tempered glass as well as the innovative VSG matt or black laminated glass.
GLASS INSTALLATION
Obverse - Reverse
As a standard we glaze our wings "on the obverse", i.e. the matt side with possible decoration or the colourless side with decoration is on the hinge side. On customer request it is possible to glaze on the reverse side.

Toughened decormat milk glass
The most popular type of glass is decormat glass, which lets light through but blurs the room behind the door. This makes this type of glazing effective in most rooms. The light rays are pleasantly diffused illuminating the space behind the door.

Toughened transparent glass
Transparent glass is a clear glass that lets both light through and ensures complete visibility. This type of solution works well in rooms where light rays are at a premium and where there is no need to hide what is behind the door.

VSG black laminated glass
As standard, 2 identical panes of 2, 3 or 4 mm thick glass are used for VSG, separated by a black laminating film which is impermeable to light.
